Lake Oconee News - October, 2005
EATONTON, GEORGIA – Chris Hilsman and Doug Tumlin of Pilot Builders are constantly learning from their peers how to build better homes, improve business practices, and increase customer satisfaction. As a member of the National Association of Home Builders’ (NAHB) 20 Club program, Chris and Doug meet regularly with other builders for an open exchange of information and advice. Chris and Doug are members of the “Doors,” that most recently met in Naples, Florida on September 30 – October 2, 2005. |

NAHB’s 20 Club program is a unique networking and education opportunity available exclusively to NAHB members. Groups of 20 builders from similar, non-competing building businesses meet regularly to discuss proven techniques and the latest trends in design, production, and management. The knowledge they gain from each other enables 20 Club members to improve their business operations, increase the quality of the homes they build, and raise their standards of customer service. “The experience of learning from this fantastic group of high end builders from around the country is invaluable,” said Doug Tumlin. “We have a wealth of knowledge to draw from!” Chris Hilsman adds “We think the 20 Club is one of the best things we have ever done for strengthening and improving our business.” The clubs meet several times a year, enabling Chris and Doug to continue to improve their business over the years with the invaluable information they garner from these builder networking meetings. Pilot will host their group in April 2006, which will give everyone a chance to see the homes that Pilot is building at Lake Oconee. |
